Here we are offering a very nice example of late 19th century American stoneware pottery. A 2 gallon churn made by the New York Stoneware Company in Ft Edwards NY. The pot has a nice clean salt glaze finish and is decorated with a large 3 leaf design in bright blue cobalt slip. The mark is clear and deeply impressed.
Brown Albany slip glazed interior. Just a great example of the beautiful utilitarian wares being made all across the United States at the time. A little roughness around the inner rim. Some small areas of glaze loss to the back. Please examine the pics closely. The item "19th Century New York Stoneware Cobalt Decorated Churn" is in sale since Tuesday, July 30, 2019.
