Time for someone else to enjoy them! I will try to let you know the origin of each piece when I can. This item comes with a great story. They were from New Britain, PA which is the town next to mine.
All of them are very clean and show very little signs of age and use. Bucks County, PA and new to the market! I just listed another piece, a gorgeous decorated jug also. This is a gorgeous OPEN TOP SALT GLAZED STONEWARE CROCK WITH BRUSHED BLUE FLORAL DECORATION.
The front has a flower perhaps a thistle flower? The way the opening is curved it does not look like it would have had a custom lid. Perhaps a wax sealer or storage crock?Top opening is 5 3/4 at outside edge of rim. Has the "orange peel" surface of true salt glazed stoneware. The only aging is a bunch of fleabites on the inside edge of the top rim.
No chips, cracks or hairlines. Please look at my photos. Bottom is the only indicator of age and you can see where they sat it in the kiln! SO PRISTINE IT LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE IN A MUSEUM.Looks FANTASTIC with dried or fake flowers in it. Or insert a glass inside and put fresh flowers in it. If you feel there is a problem, contact me and we will work it out.
