The blue highlighted medallion is symmetrical on both sides which is unique. Most of these have blue coloring that is smeared throughout the design. It is from the late 1800's or early1900's. 7-7/8" high from base to top rim x 5-1/2" dia. At the base and is a very heavy piece.
NOTE: Last four photos were taken indoors. This piece has a several chips to the rim and a hairline crack on ONE SIDE only that extends approx. 5 from top of rim to center of pitcher. The crack is only mildly visible from the outside.
There is an indention approx. 1/8 at the tip of the spout that was done while the clay was still green - it is glazed over and adds to the character of the piece. That is it - these details are not noticeable when on display with the handle facing to the right.It has the usual manufacturing characteristics found on OLD salt glaze stoneware i. Pits, pops, glaze skips, rubs, runs, bubbles, glaze separations, staining, crazing, and wrinkles & lines in glaze.
