Condition : Very Good++ with strong color and desirable Upstate NY maker. Rim with moderate wear, including small chips/flakes and glaze loss from use, as shown. Cobalt Shoulder has been Brush-Decorated with cobalt (rather than simply dipped), giving it an interesting and highly-unusual Swirled appearance. Stamp : DEFREEST is misspelled DEFRIESET, as shown.
Body is clean and undamaged with a shiny, salt-glazed finish. There is some minor case wear noted around the immediate shoulder (these early stoneware bottles were reused over and over).
