Antique Primitive Cobalt Blue Decorated Stoneware Milk Pan / Batter Bowl Crock
For your consideration is an Early, Stoneware Milk or Batter Pan Bowl. Beautiful gray color with a cobalt blue flower design. There is some kind of indent marking (picture 8). Due to age and use there are several imperfections such as surface wear to the glaze and some chips. There is a chip on the spout and two chips about an 1 -1/4 each along the outside edge (picture 3 & 4 picture 4 is the same chip as seen in picture 3 just a different angle), and some chips on the inside of the bowl (picture 6 looks like a dark spot and picture 12). There is also a crack which goes through to the inside of the crock. Starts at the top edge and runs to the bottom of the crock (pictures 1, 10, 11 & 12). Very slight hairline crack on the very bottom which does not go through to the. Even with the crack the crock is very solid and a wonderful display piece.
Bowl measures 11 -1/2" in diameter including the pour spout and sits 5 -3/4" tall. Bowl weighs over six pounds.
