Description : A small, antique Pantry Jar or Storage Crock with cobalt stenciled advertising decoration, approximate Half-Gallon capacity, SW Pennsylvania origin, ca. Wheel-thrown, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder and rounded rim. Bold stenciled cobalt merchant advertising reads: FROM / W. 7 / Diamond / [Floral] / PITTSBURGH. Shiny, Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany Slip interior. Note : 7 Diamond either refers to (the former) Diamond Street or the historic Diamond Market, which was essentially the original Pittsburgh Town Square and Dealer Marketplace. Condition : The upper and inner rim has moderate wear, nibbles, glaze loss, etc. (where a lid would rest), as shown; otherwise Excellent with strong color and nearly perfect, crisp stenciling.
Remarkable condition; no cracks, repaired damaged or other excuses. See photos for complete details and please consider them as part of the description. Very desirable size, form and PA Merchant Advertising. Measures 8H x 5W overall with a base diameter of 4-3/4.
