Front features a molded and applied " GR " cipher medallion, surrounded by elaborate incised foliate decorations with drooping tulip motif. Heavy brushed cobalt accents to body; Manganese highlights to the ribbed collar. A worthy addition to any collection. The photos are probably the best description.
Condition : This Jug survives in Excellent, essentially as-made condition, with strong color and highly-detailed Incised decorations. There is a mount for a pewter lid near the upper handle terminal, though I doubt this Jug was actually ever used. No cracks, repairs or restoration work. Inherent glaze, surface and firing imperfections, including small clay separations within the medallion (see close-up, photo #7), noted for complete descriptive accuracy.Minimal wear noted on the base and rim. See photos for complete details and please consider them as part of the description. Approximate 2L capacity, filled to the upper shoulder. Measures 10-1/4H x 6W overall with a base diameter of 3-3/8.
