This large antique nineteenth-century salt glaze stoneware crock was manufactured by N. White & Sons, of Utica, New York. Measuring ten inches tall, and eleven and one quarter inches at its widest, it is a three-gallon crock, with a beautiful cobalt blue design. As for condition, there is an extremely small hairline crack on the outside of the rim that does not go through to the interior. Measuring 1/2 long, it is difficult to see, unless it is pointed out.
There are also two small dings to the interior that are only minor blemishes and do not compromise the crock's appearance or integrity. In fact, the piece is in very nice condition, with intact ears, a beautiful glaze, a vibrant cobalt blue design, and a readily legible maker's mark. Here is an excellent example of this maker's work.
