Description : An antique, blue-decorated Stoneware Beer Bottle made for the venerable Paterson, New Jersey Brewer, Philip Pfannebecker, Sr. Cylindrical, wheel-thrown form with tapered shoulder and oversized blob top. In addition, two large freehand cobalt Bs (B irch B eer) flank the stamps.
Pfannebecker was a well-known brewer of Weiss, Spruce, Birch, Cherry and other regional beers using the ingredients of the highest quality. See Internet for further information on the maker. Condition : Base two minor chips, one of which is glazed-over; otherwise In Very Good to Excellent, essentially as-made condition with crisp stamp impressions and bold color. No cracks, repaired damage or restoration work. Inherent glaze, surface and firing imperfections noted for descriptive accuracy.Displays brilliantly; highly-appropriate for any NJ Stoneware or Early Beer enthusiast.
