For sale is this very nice early antique salt-glazed stoneware jug from Haxstun & Co. Out of Fort Edward, NY. This is an early East Coast piece, before the company became Huxston & Ottman, which is what we usually see stamped on these jugs from Fort Edward.

This one features a cobalt blue tornado motif and measures approximately 11.5" tall and 7" diameter at the base, weighing almost 5.75 pounds. We believe this is a 2 gallon size. We find it to be in very good vintage condition with some minimal flaws.

The condition issues to note are a tiny pinpoint chip on the outer edge of the lip, a very slight hairline crack in the glaze about 4.5 long, a fingernail sized chip near the base with a small amount of spider-webbing, and a quarter-inch chip at the base rim. Please see the pictures to evaluate the condition further. Overall, this is a very fine looking piece and would make a great addition to any stoneware collection. The item "EARLY HAXSTUN & CO.
