Pictured is an early blue & white spongeware pitcher available for sale. The ovoid-shape dates the pitcher to having been produced from 1860 - 1885. It is hand thrown versus later molded spongeware pitchers. It has great color contrast & eye-appeal with its paw print sponged decoration. It measures 8 1/4" in height and 4 1/8" in base diameter.
