Pictured is a small blue decorated salt glazed mug offered for sale. Early salt glaze mugs along with personal items are seldom seen versus larger utilitarian storage vessels. The ovoid mug has a freehand floral design with a small flower bud on a stem. There are blue highlights around the handle as well.

It measures 4 1/2 in height & dates from 1860 - 1885. It's in excellent condition with a pin head size nick on the brim just above the handle. Origin, either New York State or Pennsylvania.
