Novel (1905 1925) Blue & White Spongeware One Quart Beater Jar Stoneware

  
Pictured is a novel & unusual blue & white sponged-decorated beater jar, not seen before, & offered for sale. The short one quart container has somewhat of an irregular paw print design with sponging aligned in vertical rows. The interior base is rounded to be used as a beater jar and for ease in mixing.

It measures 5 3/8" in height, 4 1/2" in base diameter, & dates from 1905 to the late 20's. The jar is in very good condition with three (3) short stress hairlines at the rim; 1" thru line, 1" interior line only, & 1 1/2 exterior line only (see pics). The underside has a flat sliver.
